Lions Say Thank You ...
The Holliston Lions would like to thank all Holliston residents, the park & recreation department, Highway department, Holliston police, auxiliary police and the fire department for making our 52nd annual carnival the most successful carnival to date. The Holliston Lions annual carnival is our biggest fundraiser of the year. In addition, it is also our greatest community event where we make use of our ability to put on a fireworks display to thank Holliston residents for their support. 100% of all funds raised by Lions go back to the community of Holliston, state or international causes.
In the Town of Holliston we provide $12,000 in scholarships, support to the food pantry, auxiliary police support, donations to the library and we helped provide the funds for the new "Welcome to Holliston" signs.
On a state level, Lions donate to Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund, Inc. (MLERF) which fund grants for Massachusetts institutions performing research related to the prevention and cure of eye-related diseases. Annually, Lions Clubs from all over Massachusetts raise nearly $1,000,000 and we’re proud to be part of that effort.
On an international level, we help raise funds to assist with natural disaster relief such is provided during floods, hurricanes and even aid to the Boston Marathon victims. We’re proud of the work we do and without the support of the community our efforts would be fruitless.
