Selectmen Jay Marsden and Jay Leary and Town Administrator Paul Lebeau were in attendance at tonight's meeting.

The Selectmen expressed condolences for the tragedy of a young man who lost his life in a horrible accident here in town on Tuesday.

Executive minutes and event permits for Celebrate Holliston and Breaking Aids were approved. A banner request was approved for Holliston Youth Basketball. An RFP for the facility at the Pinecrest Golf Course to allow continuity of permit was postponed until September 4 meeting.

A request to endorse the renomination of Dennis Giombetti to the Metropolitan Planning Organization was approved.

There was a discussion regarding the problems involved at the Axton Cross property. Owners have expressed an intent to demolish the building on the property before winter sets in. Permits for this would require testing and reviews from the EPA, DEP and the Conservation Commission. The Selectmen expressed frustration over previous attempts to collect taxes in arrears on the property.  A motion was made and seconded to send a letter to the owners expressing the need for a serious discussion to resolve the tax debt before permits are considered.

Police Chief John Moore and all involved were commended for the police training sessions at the high school.
