Meet The Beetles

The Holliston Conservation Associates are hosting a talk by Jennifer Forman Orth
from the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources on Wednesday, April
24th at 7:30 PM.

The title of the talk is Meet The Beetles: What Asian Longhorned Beetle and Emerald Ash Borer Mean for Massachusetts Forests.  The talk will be held in the Johnson Room at the
Holliston Police Station.  Parking is  on the street.  All are invited.

With more than 30,000 trees lost in Worcester to the Asian longhorned beetle,
and a new infestation of Emerald Ash Borer found in Berkshire County last
summer, our state’s hardwood trees are at risk. Join Jennifer Forman Orth from
the Mass. Dept. of Agricultural Resources for a presentation that will teach you
what you need to know to recognize and prevent the spread of invasive pests like
Asian Longhorned Beetle and Emerald Ash Borer. Using real insect specimens and
damaged wood, learn how to recognize these insects, the tree damage they cause,
and how you can help keep invasive pests in check.  The talk will last about 45
minutes and there will be time for questions afterwards.
