Pamela and Justin join just a handful of CHA certified instructors in the region and the only CHA certified instructors in Holliston and surrounding towns.  The Commonwealth of Massachusetts does not require such a certification.

The certification process involves a week-long program with emphasis on safety and effectiveness during which candidates are objectively and systematically evaluated on existing knowledge and skill level.  CHA Instructors have taken the time to become involved in educating themselves about safety with horses. The CHA Certification process also requires a riding instructor to take hands-on courses where they are tested on safety, horsemanship, group control, professionalism, and teaching skills.  Participants also learn new skills, are exposed to recognized industry safety standards, and interact with other equine professionals to discuss industry best practice.

The purpose of CHA is to promote excellence in safety and education for the benefit of the horse industry. CHA certifies instructors and trail guides, accredits equestrian facilities, publishes educational manuals, produces how-to videos, and hosts regional and international conferences.

Newfound Farm has also initiated the process to become an accredited equestrian facility by the CHA.  The CHA Site Accreditation process is a rigorous evaluation including two site visitors who assess the facility and score it based on management, program, and site standards to show that the stable is taking the utmost care of its clients, staff, and horses.

While Newfound Farm plans to officially open in May, there are riding slots open now for beginner riders or those looking to continue their education.  There is also Newfound Farm Summer Camp for kids 4-12 years old who enjoy animals and the outdoors.
