HCAT Winners

Amy Porter is a winner.  So are Deborah Moore and Herb Krauss.

The triumphant trio was each recently awarded a great prize from Holliston Cable Access Television, courtesy of a random drawing from respondents to HCAT’s 2012 Strategic Plan Survey.  The survey, intended to provide a strategic vision for Holliston’s hometown station, was completed by 256 residents, and once tabulated, provided one inescapable conclusion; that when it comes to cable access in Holliston, there are many winners.

Those winners would be found among viewers of Town Meeting, High School Sports and Selectmen’s Meetings, which ranked as the most watched programs, with the always available Bulletin Board included among the favorites.  Over 70 percent of the respondents indicated a desire for more local news, clearly confirming HCAT’s underlying objective of providing the local viewer with information and resources not available elsewhere.

The vast majority of respondents were over forty years old, a healthy number of whom expressed interest in learning more about cable television and assisting in program production.  A tour of the HCAT facility was also shown to be of popular interest.

HCAT was pleased with the survey results, and encourages residents to become involved in what is “their” station.  More interest in the station leads to more participation which results in more and better programming.  In that way, we all become winners.
