The Holliston Chaos U14 girls soccer team from Holliston Youth Soccer advanced to the semi final round of the 31st annual Framingham Memorial Classic Soccer tournament.  Framingham hosts over 125 teams from all over New England and New York.  The tournament is a patch tournament where the teams exchange their town or club patches after the game.

Holliston played in the U14 Girls C division along with nine other teams to make up the largest division in the tournament.  After round robin play the top four teams met on Sunday afternoon to determine the champion.

In the first game of the tournament the Chaos played the Framingham Falcons.  Despite dominating the second half, Holliston was unable to break the 0-0 tie.
In game two, Holliston played the Canton Cosmos and fell behind in the first five minutes.  Holliston tied the score on a goal by Beth Radcliffe midway through the half but trailed 1-2 by halftime.  In the second half Holliston took control and tied it up with a goal from Kathryn Johnston.  With approximately five minutes remaining Amber Mitchell put in the winning goal on a corner kick.  Strong midfield play helped lead the comeback.  Kelsey Crowley assisted on the first two goals with Haley Hanstad feeding the ball to Kelsey on the second goal.

On Sunday the Chaos faced the Natick Thunder.  A win by either team would guarantee them a spot in the semifinals.   Both teams battled hard in the first half, but neither team was able to score.  In the second half Holliston scored the winning goal on a Kathleen McShane pass to Kelsey Crowley who crossed it to Kathryn Johnston with 10 minutes remaining.

Natick had many scoring chances but was continually denied by the strong play of Holliston's defense.    The Thunder had a golden opportunity to tie the game when they were awarded a penalty shot with less than three minutes left in the game.  However, goalie Ashley Fondo saved the shot allowing Holliston to advance to the semifinals.
After round robin play Holliston was 2-0-1 and tied for top seed with the Natick Rebels.  Natick won the top spot in a tie-breaker placing Holliston as the second seed in the semi-finals.

In the semi-finals Holliston faced a club team from Abbey Villa.  Abbey Villa out played Holliston early on, but the Chaos struck first as Kelsey Crowley scored on a break away off a punt by goalie Ashley Fondo.  About ten minutes later Abbey Villa tied the score with the half ending in a 1-1 tie.  The second half was evenly played, but Abbey Villa was able to score two goals in the last ten minutes to knock Holliston out of the playoffs.

Members of the Holliston Chaos included forwards Haley Hanstad, Beth Radcliffe, Kelsey Crowley, and Kathryn Johnston.  At midfield were Nathalie Falcao, Kim Falcao, Hannah Catlin, Megan Burke, Amanda Ernst, Kathleen McShane, and Morgan Geoffroy.  The defense consisted of Annie Croke, Amber Mitchell, Olivia Tornifoglio, Shannen Murphy, Erica Chipman, and Catie Maroney.  In goal were Ashley Fondo with Shannen Murphy also chipping in.  The Chaos is coached by Garth Fondo and Jeff Geoffroy.
