James Edward Roth, 83, of Holliston, a former longtime resident of Natick, passed away on February 26, 2012, at the Metro West Medical Center in Framingham. He was the beloved husband of Rita L. (Scriven) Roth with whom he shared 39 years of marriage.
 
Born in Natick, the son of the late James E. and Marie F. (Patino) Roth, Mr. Roth was raised and educated in Natick. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on December 17, 1951, and served honorably until being discharged on April 9, 1954, with the rank of Airman Second Class. After returning from military service, Mr. Roth began his career as a master mason, first with Palmer & Sons Company in Natick and Wellesley and later with Riverdale Mills Corporation in Northbridge. A gifted craftsman, he enjoyed making fine furniture and clocks.

Mr. Roth, who will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, was an avid sports fan most especially following the New England Patriots and Boston Bruins. In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children, Kathleen P. Kerrigan of Holliston, Francis W. Kerrigan (Jennifer Smith) of Milford, Karen L. (David) Wolf of Holliston, Sharon A. (Peter) Kach of Uxbridge, Paula (Jack) Glorioso of Wellesley, and Robyn Jacobson of NH; four grandchildren, Kaylee Kach, Jason Roth, Jarrod Jacobson, and Justess Bowles; and one brother, Robert B. (Ruthann) Roth of Framingham. He was the brother of the late Gertrude Lillian Roth St. Pierre.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend his funeral from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street (at Natick Common) NATICK on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 9:15 AM to be followed by his Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patricks Church, Natick at 10:00 AM. Burial with military honors will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, South Natick. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 5-8 PM.
