"Project Just Because" a local charity located in Hopkinton that serves the less fortunate who live in the MetroWest area is collecting gifts and donations, for their Holiday Wish List Program.

The First Congregational Church of Holliston, one of the locations in this year’s Holiday Stroll, which takes place on November 27, 2010 from 3-7, is collecting gifts and donations for the Project Just Because Wish List Program.

During the Holiday Stroll, the church will have a table set up beside the ”Holiday Wish List” tree either on the church lawn or inside the Church to accept donations.  There are several ways to participate: donate cash or a check, buy a gift card or purchase gifts specified on an ornament on the “Holiday Wish List” tree. (See below)

1. Cash or checks made out to “Project Just Because,” with the memo line indicating “Holiday Wish List.”

2. Gift cards for any local store, gas station, restaurant, etc.  For example a gift card to a local retail store will enable a parent to pick out the proper size and preferred colors of clothing for their needy child/children.

3. Choose an ornament from the “Holiday Wish List” tree.   Each of these ornaments list requested items for a specific person (baby, child, teen or adult).   The person choosing one of these ornaments would purchase every item on this list.  All the items purchased for a specific person should be placed unwrapped in one bag, with the ornament securely attached to this bag and the bag dropped off by Sunday Dec. 12.  Additional instructions are provided when you pick up an ornament as to when and where to bring the gifts.  There are several locations to drop off the gifts including the First Congregational Church and drop offs can be made during the week and weekends.

Donations (cash, checks or gift cards) can be dropped off with the people manning the “Holiday Wish List” Tree during the Holiday Stroll.  Gifts purchased after taking an ornament must be returned by Dec 12.

Should you prefer to donate directly to Project Just Because in Hopkinton or learn more about this non-profit charitable organization their website is www.projectjustbecause.org

Stop off at the First Congregational Church during the Holiday Stroll to participate in the Holiday Wish List program and to sing Christmas carols on the Green, listen to the Handbell Choir or teen Steeple Pilots Band in the sanctuary or have refreshments and do crafts.
