Holliston's new 4H Science Club, DnA, participated in the Apps for Kids Game Jam held at Microsoft's New England Research and Development Center in Cambridge, MA  over the weekend.

The group brainstormed with local programmers who were challenged to develop computer games in 48 hours.  These were centered on nutritional education as part of First Lady Michele Obama's "Let's Move"  initiative. Game Jams were held simultaneously in eight cities across the country. Game developers, local youth and adults were brought together to produce educational games that incorporate the USDA nutrition data and aim to motivate kids to eat better.

Many associate 4-H with farming and rural communities, but 4-H has grown into a community of six million young people across America learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. 4-H'ers participate in fun and hands-on learning activities, supported by the latest research of land-grant universities.  These are focused on three areas: Science, Engineering and Technology, Healthy Living and Citizenship.
