Mandatory Odd/Even Water Ban
Effective May 1, 2010

A mandatory water ban has been implemented on nonessential outdoor water use between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm.

Non essential water uses include irrigation of lawns, washing of vehicles, exterior building surfaces and driveways.

Lawn watering will be permitted outside the restricted hours on an odd/even system.  Properties with even street numbers may water lawns on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday; and properties with odd street numbers may water lawns on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.  No lawn watering on Mondays. Hand-held hose water uses will be permitted on all days outside of the restricted hours of 9am - 5 pm.

Watering is allowed for all agricultural uses, for the establishment of new lawns and plantings, and irrigation of public parks and recreational fields outside the hours of 9 am - 5 pm.

The mandatory water ban will allow us to repair our water tanks while continuing to provide adequate water to all customers and allow watering  of lawns under an odd/even system (lawns normally require only 1 inch of water per week to remain healthy).

You can direct questions about the mandatory water ban to the Holliston Water Department at 429-0603 or 893-6384.

PLEASE CONSERVE WATER.
