As part of the Celebrate Holliston Field Day, the Knights drew the five winning tickets with prizes of $1,000, $500, $250, $150, and $100.

The dignitaries drawing the tickets were:

State Representative Carolyn Dykema

Former  Selectman Jay Marsden  (assisted by his 9-week old Boxer named Cassius)

Senior Center Director Linda Marshall

Holliston Pantry Shelf President Steve Bradford

President of the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity Metrowest Jessica Murphy and Kay Baxter, Board member for the Holliston Housing Trust

The names and ticket numbers of the five winners were announced.  No shrieks of joy were heard in the crowd - so writing names on the tickets is a great idea to contact the winners.  Congratulations!

Immediately after that, donations were made to Habitat for Humanity ($2,000), the Senior Center ($5,000), and to the Holliston Pantry Shelf ($5,000).

Additional donations will be sent to the food pantries in Ashland, Medway, Millis, Bellingham, and Milford; we held group ticket sales in these towns and appreciate the support they give by purchasing tickets even though they don't live in Holliston.

We will also be presenting donation checks to two veterans groups, Homes for Our Troops and IPods for Wounded Veterans, at the town's annual Veterans Day luncheon in November.  Smaller donations will also be made throughout the year to other organizations and causes.

The St. Mary's of Holliston Knights of Columbus Council #14224 conducted its 11th Annual Charity Raffle this year and raised a record $24,371 for charity!

This year's raffle involved over 1,200 hours of time donated by our council brothers to sell (and audit) all the tickets

It brings the Knights' total donations to $210,000 in just eleven years.

The chairs for this year's raffle were Grand Knight Al Scaramella, Knights Bill Heuer, Aaron Pyman, and Tom Anguish.
