Can't make it to Germany this year? Don't worry. The Holliston Historical Society has the answer to your travel woes.  Our annual Oktoberfest celebration,  held in our 1815 barn, conveniently located at 547 Washington Street in Holliston, MA  features great food, a lively band, and friendly service by Society volunteers. Come meet them as well as your neighbors and friends.

As is the tradition for this event, the featured entertainment is the Double Eagle Oktoberfest Band. Performing  all over the East Coast and Canada, this lively band will get you laughing, singing, and dancing before the evening is done.

Ken Onofrey, of Crafted, will be supplying the beer for this event and will speak briefly about the craft beers available at this event. In addition to the beer, wine, soda, and water will also be available. The dinner menu includes large soft pretzels, knockwurst, rye bread, German potato salad, and pickled red cabbage. After the dinner enjoy coffee, tea, and homemade apple crisp with whipped cream for dessert. Vegetarians can request Kasespatzel in place of knockwurst by contacting Beate Hait at Beateh1@aol.com or 508-429-3564.

Tickets are available at Fiske's, Holliston Superette, and Crafted. Make checks payable to Holliston Historical Society. Tickets are also available through October 17th on PayPal at hollistonhistoricalsociety.org.

Tickets are $25 each, with a small handling fee if purchased through PayPal. Because space is limited, there is no guarantee that tickets will be available at the door, so don't wait to get your tickets! Germany awaits. Hope to see you there.

The Double Eagle Oktoberfest Band returns to the Historical Society Barn on Friday for the 19th consecutive year to lead us in the singing of:

Ein Prosit, Ein Prosit, der Gemütlichkeit

Below are the lyrics for you to practice:

Ein Prosit, Ein Prosit, der Gemütlichkeit
(Cheer!) Eins, zwei, drei, g'suffa! Zicke, zacke, zicke, zacke, hoi, hoi, hoi
Zicke, zacke, zicke, zacke, hoi, hoi, hoi

With a glass of beer in hand we toasted to coziness and good cheer...

Beer, mostly German, and wine will be served with the traditional German knockwurst and red cabbage dinner, prepared by Historical Society members.

Tickets are available at Fiske's, Holliston Superette, and Crafted. Make checks payable to Holliston Historical Society. Tickets are also available through October 17th on PayPal at hollistonhistoricalsociety.org.
