Why I am voting for Stacey Raffi for Holliston School Committee

by Bill Blinstrub

To The Editor,

For the first time in several years we have a contested race for a seat on the school committee here in Holliston.  Our excellent schools are a source of great pride for Holliston residents. It gives us great community pride, helps contribute to our great property values, and makes Holliston a much sought after destination for home buyers, all while being a source of envy for our neighboring communities.

This academic excellence does not come cheap. As our school department budget accounts for such a large portion of our small town budget, it is absolutely imperative that we elect the right people to our school committee.

This is why I am voting for Stacey Raffi when I go to the polls on May 23rd.

For the past three years, Stacey has worked tirelessly on behalf of the students of Holliston. Currently the Vice Chair on the committee, Raffi has spent countless hours on the school budget, established solid working relationships with our state legislative representatives and knows how to effectively lobby for funding for Holliston schools.

She is a fierce, dedicated advocate for ALL students- English Language Learners, Special Education, Gifted and Talented, struggling students, and non-struggling students. Stacy is also a committed parent, with kids in our school system, who values the education of all of Holliston’s students.

This is the kind of leadership we need on our school committee- someone who has their priorities straight and will work to prioritize our students academics needs to prepare them for the real world.

This is why I am proudly voting for Stacey Raffi for School Committee on May 23rd.
