Mark gives his vision of Holliston's future in the video above

Mark Ahronian is running unopposed for the 3 year term as Selectman to replace retiring Jay Leary. Mark was interviewed by the Holliston Reporter staff to let residents know his credentials and his ambition as a member of the Board of Selectman. Bobby Blair led the interview, that may be viewed on this site.

His primary goal is to promote community and economic development, the town of Holliston needs a more diversified tax base, which requires welcoming businesses to settle in town. The result would be a lower tax rate to reduce the current high tax bills currently paid by our residents  It is expensive to live in town and low cost housing for the elderly is needed.  There is talk in town of building a new high school, and this along with long term pension payments as well as a review of past commitments that require tax dollars. The recent change in personnel is understandable but the current vacancy in the Veterans Service office must be filled.  Mark expressed his opposition to allow retail marijuana sold in town. Holliston is a safe bedroom community, keep it that way.

This is his first elected position, but he noted his experience with town groups and committees. He is on the Council of Aging. served as Tree Warden, and is currently co-chair of the Holliston in Bloom committee. He is an active Lions Club member, and was President in 2007, elected Lion of the Year. He was the Holliston Citizen of the Year in 2010. He was involved in the redesign of Goodwill Park, the Senior Center and the construction of the walkway from the Exchange Street municipal parking lot to Central Street.

He expressed his love of  Holliston and asked all to support him on the ballot at the May 23rd town election.
