Garden Club Wreath Making for the 8 Arch Bridge

Ready for the holidays? The Garden Club is. On Sunday, November 20th, nearly a dozen members were busy assembling the wreaths that Bobby Blair will hang on the 8 arch bridge. This is the third year that the club has made wreaths.  This year the event took place in Erin Porter’s barn

The various assortment of greens and sprigs of bright red berries comes from members’ yards as well as some being bought and donated by club members. For the past three years, Fiske’s General Store has generously donated and made the bows that decorate the wreaths and the club specifically wants to thank the Paltrineris for their generosity.

All the wreaths are different, depending on the greens used, but all are made by wiring these greens to a three foot round metal frame. The Garden Club braved a rather cold, windy day to assemble these beautiful wreaths, and Erin Porter’s barn smelled of pine trees. Drive by the 8 arch bridge soon to see the garden club’s handiwork.

The following members made the wreaths: Susan Russo, Karen Russo, Martha Pellegrino, Kathy Warburton, Jill Malcolm, Val Howes, Lee Guertin, Cyndy Rob, Dusty Rhoades, Debbie Coviello, and Mary Ellen Harm.

Paul Saulnier aded the following:

On Friday, November 25th, Steve Hedrick and Bobby Blair hung the wreaths on the bridge.

Steve, I'll go up if you promise to keep the ladder steady.

How's the view Steve? Your's is better.

Last one went up without a problem.

Even on a drizzly day, the bridge looks festive.
