Newcomers Craft Fair – 39 Years and Still Going Strong by Amanda Gibeau

Like turkey and apple pie on Thanksgiving, the Holliston Newcomers Club’s Craft Fair is an annual tradition to usher in the holiday season. Now in its 39th year, New England artisans will line the cafeteria, halls, and gymnasium of Holliston High School on Sunday, November 20th.

“We are very excited to have many new vendors to the fair this year,” says Erica Long, chair of Craft Fair. “There will be an incredible assortment of handmade goods including knit pieces, custom clothing, beautiful jewelry, photography, artwork, and tasty treats.” Of course, 2016 Craft Fair still has all of your old favorites such as iDazz Custom Designs, Nantasket Beads, Warm Fuzzies, and Little Beehive Farm owned by Holliston resident Tony Lulek just to name a few.

And after all that shopping has worked up your appetite? Just stop by the bake table to satisfy your sweet tooth with a variety of sweet treats and scrumptious goodies! You’ll enjoy every bite even more knowing that the proceeds raised at Craft Fair go directly back into the Holliston community in the form of local grants. In the 2015-2016 year alone, HNC grant recipients included 8-Arch Bridge Restoration, Culture Connection Miller School, the Downtown Marigold Project, Helping Hooves Therapeutic Riding, Holliston Auxiliary Police, Holliston High School’s All-Night Graduation Party, Holliston in Bloom, Holliston Pantry Shelf, Holliston Parks and Recreation Summer Concerts, Holliston Police Department, Holliston Public Library, Junior First Lego League, Miller Marathon Fitness Challenge, Miller School Senior Gift Bags, and Youth Making A Difference - Holliston Extended Day.

So what do you get when you mix talented crafters and delicious food with a great community cause? The go-to event of the season! I know I’ll be there on Sunday, November 20 and I hope you will too
