Aviary Closing for the Season
Over the next few weeks the Butterfly Aviary will be winding down for the
season. We have had a very successful summer with lots of visitors from our
community and neighboring towns.
Thank you to our 2016 Sponsors: Holliston in Bloom, McArthur Farm, Ahronian Landscape and to all the people who made donations. A special thank you to
CherryFenton for all the hours donated to help keep the aviary looking great,
inside and out.
Because of this year’s short season, many groups did not get to do a butterfly
hatch so next year we plan on opening much earlier so everyone will have the
opportunity.
Later this fall we will be planting a large quantity of milkweed seeds in containers.
This will provide food for the caterpillars nextseason. We are also building three
newobservation boxes to allow visitors to see the hatching process at different
stages.
