How Come

by The Staff
7/10/2016

How come some comments are published in the Holliston Reporter and some are not?How come some that are published and are then removed?  This question has been brought up before, and the answer is basic, the writer must be legitimately identified, in other words, no fictitious names.

The HollistonReporter.com is a local online newspaper that is intended to inform residents and interested folks about what is going on in Holliston and encourage local business support. It is not a political journal and does not intentionally take positions on controversial subject matter.

The comments can not be edited by HollistonReporter.com staff, but we do have the option to publish or delete the comment. The comment section requires a first and last name and an email address prior to submission. Comments are welcome in support of subject matter or in opposition to it. HollistonReporter.com does not accept or reject based on opinion. We do require a legitimate name and email address, and if in doubt we will verify both prior to or post publication.

When we began operation of this hyper local newspaper in 2008 we were concerned that some might treat us as "blog" site, and we were  and still are strongly opposed to that reception. Yet there are some who encourage this concept with their comments. There are sites on Facebook that welcome this perspective, such as Crabby Holliston.

Be proud of your concerns and thoughts and accept responsibility for them. Use your real name when submitting comments not a phony name.

We encourage free speech and open discussion and discourage blogging and fictitious identification.

Has anyone tried to call Republic to get a pick-up of an item that does not fit in a trash can? They are impossible to get to. I was on hold for 21 minutes and gave up. Consumer satisfaction should be considered when the town contracts the next solid waste pick up deal.
