by HIB Committee

The crew removerd the grass from along the foundation to create a stone border that will reduce splashing from rain onto the side of Town Hall and to make room for plants.

Above, Rick Muzzi spreads stone to create a border for the plants.

Grassed areas that did not do well will be replaced with mulch and plants.

Above, Egan Conor, left, and Brian Fisher fill a wheelbarrow with stone for the borders.

The lunch area created by HIB will be even more inviting when the work is completed this weekend.

Changes are underway to create more planting beds in front of Town Hall as well.

The Marigolds being planted are special varieties given to us from AIB through VP Katy Moss Warner. The seeds were planted in the Mayor's green house earlier this Spring and grown specially for our Town Hall as a display of varieties of our Town flower. The seeds came from Diane Blazek of Synagenta Seeds. They are all AAS winners (all American selections).

HIB has scheduled another planting party for Sunday, June 14, 2015, from 2 to 3:30 PM. This is a community planting headed by HIB involving, the highway dept., the Downtown Marigold Project, residents, Holliston Garden Club members, and of course HIB committee members.

All are welcome to join in the fun and satisfaction of being part of beautifying Town Hall.
