Golden Sneaker Award

                                 The coveted Golden Sneaker award. The students not only tried to accumulate distances for themselves, but for their classroom. Each class in grades 3, 4, and 5 competed against each other by tabulating the number of miles they accumulated at home from March to the end of May. Weekly, each classroom’s miles were calculated into an average miles/student.

Miller’s Second Annual Marathon Fitness Challenge is Underway!

The MFC is a 16-week incentive based run/walk program. Over 16 weeks, students and their families are encouraged to run or walk an ultimate distance of a marathon (26.2 miles) or a half marathon (13.1 miles). The class in each grade that accumulates the most miles earns the Golden Sneaker Award, as well as golden shoelaces for each student.

Students were encouraged to run or walk an ultimate distance of a marathon (26.2 miles) or half marathon (13.1 miles). Miller grades 3, 4, and 5 congregate for recognition of MFC accomplishments.

Anticipation Growing for the Special Olympics

The 5 Town Special Olympics School Day Games are coming to Holliston! On April 10th Special Olympians from Medway, Millis, Ashland, Medfield and Holliston will congregate at the Holliston High School Fieldhouse to show their athleticism and heart. Their training and preparation for this track and field event has already begun!

The Marathon Fitness Challenge Proposed to Miller Students

The Marathon Fitness Challenge (MFC) was recently presented to the Miller students. The MFC is a health and fitness program that will provide a great opportunity for the students to challenge themselves, their classmates, and their families. The goal of this program is for students to run or walk an ultimate distance of a marathon: 26.2 miles in 21 weeks! Students who reach a distance of a half marathon, 13.1 miles, will also be recognized. The Golden Sneaker award and Golden Shoelaces - These are to be awarded to the classroom in each grade who accumulates the most "mile/student."
