High school girl's volleyball fell to 2-4 last week with three straight losses to Wellesley, Westwood, and Hopkinton. With growing strength by the whole team, which has been working hard at strategic defense as well as a more organized offence, hopes remain high for the coming week: Monday at Medfield and Wednesday hosting Norton.

Friday's Hopkinton game was a lesson in defense; after an embarrassing first game, the next two losses were closer in score as the Panthers got more and more capable of responding to Hopkinton's advantage in height and experience.  Strong performances by Julia Sirianni and Madison Porter at the net, co-captain Heather Leger for the digs, and aces by Sam Devens made the game more exciting to watch.

#10 Libero Heather Leger repeatedly returned Hopkinton's toughest spikes.

#15 Madison Porter, #14 Shannon Regan, and #13 Maddie Hammond watch the ball.

#9 Julia Sirianni made a some successful hits against Hopkinton.
