2014 Celebrate Holliston at Goodwill Park
Celebrate Holliston began at 9:00 am with a fantastic parade followed by a day of fun at Goodwill Park with entertainment and a chance to visit booths of local clubs and businesses.
The celebration officially opened with a stirring rendition of our National Anthem sung by Lori Anderson York, accompanied by Stewart Britton of Holliston School Music Department.
Congresswoman Katherine Clark is happy to share Celebrate Holliston with Rep.Carolyn Dykema and Senator Karen Spilka.
Louise Kirkpatick, Citizen of the Year was awarded citations and commendations from State Representative Carolyn Dykema, Senator Karen Spilka, Congresswoman Katherine Clark and Selectman Chairman Kevin Conley for her involvement in local charities and good works. 
Louise thanked all and expressed her appreciation for the honor bestowed upon her.
Walter "D" Robbins, Citizen of the Year was unable to attend the celebration to receive the awards and citations and was represented by Francis Mullen. The many years of giving back to the town by :"D" for his charitable and volunteerism was duly recognized.
Mike Kerrigan of The Knights of Columbus presented donations of five thousand dollars each to the Holliston Senior Center and the Food Pantry. Sylvia Stickney, a founding member of the Food Pantry accepts and thanks the Knights for all they have done for local charities.
Celebrate Holliston Chair Amy Porter thanked Marc Cohen for his many years as treasurer of Celebrate Holliston.Marc is stepping down after serving since 1991, the first year of the Celebration Committee.
The ever popular chili tasting contest was a big hit again this year and the winner is: Red Car Chili #8 by chefs Mary and Joanne Apesos.

John "Choo-Choo " Shannahan was the Master of Ceremonies coordinating the entertainers of the day.
Citizens of the Year, 2013 Linda Ahronian and Mike Tyman recalled the fun they had a year ago.
There was a chance for folks to pet animals, a popular spot.
The bouncy houses are always a big attraction.
The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts had popular booths, like face painting for the girls.
The Holliston Lions Club, and the Mt Hollis Lodge had booths. The Holliston Reporter, a sponsor of Celebrate Holliston donated its booth to the Masons. Several sponsors had booths they did not use that the Celebrate Holliston Committee offered to local organizations.
Holliston businesses, organizations and charities were well represented at this great annual event.

What a great job done by the organizers! Gorgeous weather and so much to do. Great food, good music and a super way to spend the day. Many thanks to those who worked so hard to make the day a good one.
