On Thursday July 10th, Governor Deval Patrick signed an Act establishing a Department of Public Works in Holliston into law. The legislation creates a new Department of Public Works with the authority to manage the water systems and roadways in Holliston.

“This Act will help the town of Holliston better coordinate planning and construction of its local water and transportation infrastructure,” said Representative Carolyn Dykema. “At a time when towns are looking to use resources as efficiently and effectively as possible, the new Department of Public Works is an important step forward for Holliston.”

The Act takes effect immediately upon passage.

Representative Carolyn Dykema represents the communities of Holliston, Hopkinton, Southborough and Precinct 2 of Westborough  in the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
