Vernal Pool Walk at the Daniels' Conservation Area

by Mary Curran

On Saturday, May 3rd, the Holliston Conservation Associates will host our annualVernal Pool Walk at 10:00 AM at the Daniels' Conservation Area across Hollis Street from the High School.  Marc Connelly (pictured above) will explain the characteristics of vernal pools and show us some of the creatures who live there.  This is a wonderful, hands-on program for children and interesting for adults too!  Dress appropriately for the weather; boots are helpful but not necessary.  Park at the
High School and walk across the street.  The vernal pool is a short walk into the property.  For more information contact Mary at 429-5929. All are invited and the program is free.

Above, attendees at last year's vernal pool walk listen to Marc describe the signs and values on a vernal pool.
