Parking Ban to be Lifted Temporarily

by Sgt. Matthew Waugh
12/20/2013

Weather permitting the Police Department, with the consent of the Town, has decided to lift the overnight parking ban on the streets in Town during the Christmas/New Years holiday.  The ban will be lifted at midnight on December 23, 2013 and run through 5:00am on January 6, 2014.

If however, inclement weather makes it necessary for road clearing/maintenance efforts by the Highway Department this moratorium is void, this is to allow safe passage and full access for emergency and public works vehicles.

Common sense is right. I had a woman in a black, smoked glass Mercedes drive me against the curb and scrape my mirror as I ascended the hill. We both got out and she assured me "it's okay, MY car" is not damaged! Need I add, she's also a Prospect Street resident? Is there something in the water there?

Speaking of street parking...tell the MORON who lives at the top of Prospect St. On the left (going up) not to park his cars on the UPHILL BLIND CORNER! I've seen many many near accidents because of that guy's lack of common sense. Smarten up!
