DATE:  December 13, 2013

Between the hours of 8:00am and 11:00am on this date the Holliston Police received reports of eight (8) entries into motor vehicles that were parked in driveways on the following roadways (Wendy Lane, Dunster Road, Adams Street, and Washington Street (3 addresses) (2 vehicles from one address) during the overnight hours from December 12th to the 13th. Loose change was taken from these vehicles. In all cases the motor vehicles were left unlocked, and no known damage was done to any vehicle. These matters remain under investigation. There are no suspects at this time. (Please note: these crimes appear identical to those reported on the morning of November 13th in the eastern section of town, and November 19th in the western section of Town).

Once again, we urge residents to remove valuables from their vehicles and to keep those vehicles locked especially during the overnight hours. In addition, please report any suspicious activity, vehicles or persons, to our department immediately upon being observed.

Saw someone poking around my car last night on Maple street at about 8 PM (Thankfully it was locked). He was wearing a head lamp and when I turned on the outside lights jumped into his car and took off. He then pulled into the neighbors driveway one house down. I called it in, but while I was on the phone he left for good. Unfortunately I didn't get a plate number or a good description of the person.

This is a most troubling trend in our town. Locked cars, or unlocked, I find it unsettling that every few weeks we hear of increased crime..

I just read the comments about not locking car doors and people being shocked by that. I grew up in this town, and we never even locked our house, never mind the car. I know times have changed, but this is still Holliston and don't be so shocked that people still feel safe enough here to not lock their vehicle. I hardly ever lock mine in my own driveway either. …I might now! :)

Crazy, how long have the police been saying it. When they get a call now they should just say too bad. Should have locked your door.

What does it take for people to lock their car doors??!!! Holey Moley, just invite the bad guys right to your car.

Why even call the police and report it if you haven't learned by now to lock your car?? You are just inviting people to take your things

C'mon people, why don't you put a sign on your car window; "HELP YOURSELF, I DON'T MIND"
