Yum, Yum, Eat Em Up.

The Conservation Associates, with Marc Connelly as speaker, hosted a very short walk (less than 100 yards) behind the Village Plaza on Route 16.  A band of 15 folks gathered for a very informative talk.  Within the short distance, there were 42 different species of plants (one for every two yards).

Marc pointed out many common plants that also had medicinal qualities or were edible.   Among the plants on the trail were: clover (edible - lemony taste), burdock (good for digestion), poison ivy (NOT edible or Medicinal but it is good to know the enemy), sassafras, bastard toad flax (yes that is the name), ragweed vs. goldenrod, chestnut, elm, jewel-weed or touch me not (poison ivy's antithesis).

After an "exhausting" walk through the woods, the group retreated for ice cream (not a plant but very edible) at Dolce Tempo.
