Spring Flowers at the Schools

Signs of Spring at the Placentino and Miller Schools

A true sign of spring is the beautiful flower boxes at the Placentino and Miller schools.

Miller students are preparing this box for spring flowers.

Once again the students used their gardening skills to plant pansies in flower boxes and large outdoor vases in the schools’ entryways. These flowers are located by the front doors of Placentino and Miller as well as the Placentino kindergarten doors.

The students used their hand strength and motor planning skills as they prepared the soil, gently removed the flowers from the tray, prepared the roots, and firmly pushed soil around the plants.

Placentino and Miller students maintain these flowers by watering them on a regular basis.

This opportunity for our students to plant and enhance the schools’ entries is provided by a generous grant from the Holliston Garden Club. Arcadian Farms in Holliston also generously supports this activity.

Come by our schools and admire the hard work of our students.
