Miller Weather on HCAT

Did you miss your daily dose of Barry Burbank?

Have Harvey Leonard’s dreary forecasts got you down?

Does Al Roker’s constant sunny disposition,

Cause you to wear an ugly weather frown?

If so, fear not my Holliston weather worriers, because a solution is at hand. No, Don Kent has not risen from the dead, and Bruce Schwoegler is not reuniting with Liz Walker and Bob Lobel. Instead, you are invited to view Miller Weather, a Holliston Cable Access Television production, broadcast live on school mornings from the Miller School Weather Station and featuring elementary school students in the role of weather prognosticators.

A recent broadcast of Miller Weather featured Meteorologist Margot advising viewers to expect temperatures in the 40’s with no precipitation. For recess, warm jackets, gloves, snow pants and boots were recommended. Meteorologist Lily then repeated the forecast in French. Il fait froid!

You’ll need an umbrella to hide your smile, but for those missing the broadcast, this and most HCAT programming is available at www.hcattv.org with HCAT Video on Demand. Not to be confused with services provided by Comcast or Verizon, the HCAT Video on Demand home page presents the most recent programming additions, with a drop down box allowing for quick, specific searches. Selectman’s and similar meetings are indexed to provide easy access to important subject matter.

Prior Town, Finance and School Committee meetings are not available; however in late March, all programs broadcast by HCAT will be available through the internet, and can be watched anytime, anywhere, via computer, phone, or tablet device. HCAT Video on Demand is not a video archive, so programs will be removed as space requires. All programs are archived on DVD and copies of shows can be purchased for $5.00 each.

More information regarding Video on Demand is available on HCAT’s Website at www.hcattv.org. The Website is a great vehicle in learning about the many exciting developments and opportunities at what is Holliston’s hometown station. Volunteers are encouraged to join.
