HHS Varsity Cheerleading Takes Top Honors
Holliston High School’s varsity cheerleaders came away from the Universal
Cheerleading Association’s elite camp at Mount Ida College with numerous awards
and honors.
This year, the Panther Cheerleaders competed in the Large Varsity division with
19 members in three different categories; Home Pom Dance, Cheer, and X-treme
Routine. The squad came away with 1st place honors in the Home Pom Dance
and in the Cheer categories. They received a third place trophy for the X-treme
Routine. In addition to placing in all three Camp Championships, the Holliston High
School cheerleaders received the Traditions Award for demonstrating consistent
enthusiasm, pride and leadership during the week. Holliston's Panther cheerleaders
competed in the large varsity division against 27 varsity squads from Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Canada.
Holliston’s cheerleaders also won numerous “superior” ribbons in their
evaluations as well as winning spirit sticks each day. In addition, one Holliston
cheerleader was named All-American cheerleaders after tryouts for the honor. Tori Vitali was selected as an All-American after demonstrating jumps, cheer, and dance skills in front of the entire camp. She has been invited to represent Holliston in the Lord Mayor’s New Year’s Day Parade in London.
