Third Quarter Sales Post Double Digit Rise in Units and Price

One year ago the tax credit for first-time buyers had expired in
April, causing sales to slow down immediately following. This
year Holliston may have had a boost from the recently published Boston
Magazine article that ranked Holliston as the number 19 school
district, right above Winchester. View the rankings here:
http://www.bostonmagazine.com/best-schools-in-boston/index.html.

In the third quarter this year, the average list price of single
family homes was $497,400. The average sale price was $481,692. Homes
were on the market for an average of 113 days. Last year from June
through September, the average list price was $440,289, the average
sale price was $430,155 and the average days on market was 99 days.

Another interesting point worth noting is that there were only 15 sales
over $500,000 during Quarter Three last year. There were 25 sales over
half a million dollars this year.

The least expensive home to sell this June through September was 62
School Street with a sale price of $180,000. The most expensive home
to sell was Lot 26 Kingsbury Drive, with a sale price of $862,602.

As always we will keep you posted with the quarterly market update. If
