The Dancing Arts Center is proud to welcome International Irish Step Dancer Attracta Quinn to its summer and fall programs.

Quinn has traveled around the world for competition and performances, including North America, Ireland, Germany, Denmark, and Russia.

In 1999, she joined the cast of Lord of the Dance, and went on to perform with Lord of the Dance in Epcot Disney World, The New York New York Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas, and in The Beau Rivage Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi. After more than two years of performing, Quinn taught dance at the O’Shea/Chaplin Academy of Dance in Brighton, Massachusetts, while attending Boston College to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Communications. During this period, she also became a registered certified Irish Dance teacher with the prestigious Irish Dancing Commission, An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha, in Dublin, Ireland.

After graduating college Quinn worked in Los Angeles, California and Derry, Northern Ireland, and came home to Boston to open The Quinn Academy of Dance in November, 2008.

“It is a thrill to have Attracta join the Dancing Arts Center as an Irish Dance instructor. Her rich experience, talent and enthusiasm will thrill our summer dancers and provide them with the type of well-rounded program we strive for year-round,” says Dancing Arts Center Director Karyn Edison.

As a child of two Irish immigrants Quinn began dancing at age seven with the O’Shea/Chaplin Academy of Dance in Brighton.  She went on to win many local, regional and national competitions and qualified every year for The World Championships. She has won eleven consecutive New England Regional titles and placed top ten annually at the North American Championships for solos along with many New England Regional and North American titles for team dancing.  At age ten, Quinn was the youngest of a group invited by the Soviet Union to perform in 1990. She toured Russia for two weeks performing for sold out shows.
