Support Neil Osterweil for Planning Board

by Nancy Baron
5/23/2011

Dear friends,

Tomorrow Holliston voters go to the polls to make some big decisions about Holliston's future.  I'm writing to ask you to support Neil Osterweil for Planning Board.  I've known Neil for 33 years and have been married to him for 25, so I'm admittedly somewhat biased.  However, the many of you who know Neil personally will agree with me that he's one of the smartest people we know, and that he's thoughtful and unfailingly fair.  Neil decided to run for Planning Board not because he wants to be elected to some office or other, but because he believes he can make a positive contribution to the town we love.  Planning Board is a five-year commitment and Neil can guarantee that he'll still be here in five years--and beyond.  Holliston is our home and we have no plans to leave, so Neil shares your long-term stake in Holliston's future.  Vote for Neil and put his experience and solid judgment to work for all of you.

Thank you,
Nancy Baron

Neil adds:
Twenty-eight years ago on a crisp September afternoon, Nancy and I took a scenic leaf-peeping tour through Holliston and instantly fell in love with the town and its classic New England look and feel. We knew then that it would be a wonderful place to raise our children, and had the privilege of buying a home on Norfolk Street, near Arcadian Farms, in 1996.

I’m running for the Planning Board – and asking for your vote – because I believe that everyone in Holliston benefits when the essential character of the town is maintained.  In the 15 years we have lived here we have seen the town grow considerably, while managing to hang on to its small town appeal.  I want to help preserve the town and its many charms for current and future residents to enjoy.

As a member of the Planning Board, I will represent the interests of the Town of Holliston and its citizens, working with responsible builders and developers to ensure that projects meet or exceed standards of public safety, aesthetics, and environmental protection--and challenging those projects that I feel are not in the best interest of the people of Holliston.
