I am writing this letter in support of Elizabeth Greendale for Town Clerk in tomorrow’s election. Despite a very competitive race with solid competition, Elizabeth remains the only candidate who knows the inner workings of the Town Clerk’s office and has had first- hand experience with the intricacies of the election process, the warrants and postings necessary for Town Meetings and the state laws that govern the recordings of births, deaths, and marriages, among many other varied duties that the Town Clerk’s office performs.

Experience like this cannot be discounted. She was the Assistant Town Clerk for four years and the Election Warden for 12 years. It matters that she has a deep understanding of the responsibilities of the position and that she has received past training toward the certifications that are necessary for the job. No other candidate for this position can claim that knowledge base.

Admittedly, I know her personally, but I have also observed her within her circle of family and friends for many years. She has an extremely helpful and giving nature. She is honest, open and respectful. She has found it difficult to boast of her accomplishments during this race. While this quality may be a detriment in the political arena, I believe it is an asset for the position of Town Clerk and indicative of someone whose focus will be on the role of the Town Clerk and the many ways she can assist the townspeople through her office or by redirecting them to another part of town government that can offer them assistance.

Experience, experience, experience. By that measure alone, Elizabeth Greendale is the winner. Please cast your vote for Elizabeth Greendale for Town Clerk in tomorrow’s election.
