Matters of the Arts Event, a Huge Success

The First Annual Matters of the Arts Event held last Friday, May 20th, was well received and well attended.

Rae Finn (shown below with Catherine Stackpole), owner of The Cosmic Sister on Exchange Street, sponsored the first annual Matters of the Arts event held at the VFW on Woodland Street. Rae should be very proud of the turnout and the success of this fun event.

The goal of this event was to expose the local talent that swirls around this great town of ours. The Cosmic Sister Studio has provided an environment for kids of all ages to express themselves through making jewelry from recycled everything...

...to painting (see wallof art below) whatever they feel like painting...

...to developing self-confidence through creating their own, one-of-a-kind fashions and showing them off in a cool kids fashion show.

This, along with the fantastic music was the highlight for me. These girls were so confident and proud of their creations.

Catherine's Pet Grooming (Catherine shown above at her booth) is the new groomer in town. Catherine is passionate about her work and promoting local business connections. Why drive to Bellingham when your pet's grooming needs will be well taken care of right here in Holliston. Along with offering Custom Styles by Careful Hands, Catherine Stackpole is a brilliant graphic designer.

These Girls (shown above) captured the spirit of the evening showing their support for Relay For Life, Autism Speaks and The Cosmic Sister.

Lisa Doolin (shown above) tends to her daughter's booth of local fleece/fashion creations and looks on in anticipation of the fashion show.

Thrifty Interiors offered a unique display (shown above) using an array of previously owned furniture, homegoods, lighting and shear netting to create a warm, inviting space. Who knew all of this talent is right here in the small town of Holliston, MA 01746.

Congratulations to The Cosmic Sister for sponsoring this fun family event where awareness, creativity and the promotion of local business reigned supreme.
