Please bring your doll to a fun Doll Tea Party at the Holliston Historical Society’s Asa Whiting House at 547 Washington Street on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at noon. Along with delicious refreshments, you and your doll can enjoy an original story about a Holliston Girl’s experiences in 1861 as the Civil War starts.  You can look at a porcelain doll collection of Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy (from Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women) and Civil War-related items from the Historical Society’s collection. Why the Civil War theme? It’s to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War.

People (ages three and up) and dolls of all ages are welcome; children must be accompanied by an adult. The Tea Party menu includes tea and pink lemonade, tea sandwiches and desserts. (If a participant has food allergy concerns, please contact Judy at the contact info below.) Children will also make crafts, take home an educational program booklet and have an opportunity to win a door prize.
