Celebration of La Chandleur right here in Holliston

The MAhome Team of Realty Executives invited 80 guests to evoke the return to Spring.

Holliston, MA, February 7, 2011:  The European celebration of La Chandleur was hosted by Ed and Doriane Daniels of Realty Executives.  80 guests braved the pending ice storm and feasted on crepes Saturday afternoon as a push into Spring, just like Americans do with Groundhog Day.

Doriane Daniels, who grew up in Belgium, introduced this tradition to the group.  La Chandleur’s official celebration date is February 2nd.  Eating crepes was the highlight of the event.  Tradition tells us that the round shapes of the crepes would evoke the return of the sun after the dark of winter.  Guests did their best to call on the sun by topping dozens of them with sugar, strawberries and Nutella hazelnut spread. 

The husband and wife real estate team of the Daniels, plus Realtor Maureen Cook, are The MAhome Team of Realty Executives.  They have fielded many calls and emails from past clients and friends looking for resources to help with ice dams and roof snow removal.  Many guests discussed the challenges that they and their neighbors were facing with the large snowfall amounts this year.  Providing resources to their clients was one solution, but celebrating La Chandleur was thought of by the real estate Team as an additional method.
