Of childhood innocence
Clothed in smooth red velvet
And soft white furry trim
Santa is a spirit
Of anticipation
Through the eyes of toddlers
Dreaming of shiny toys
Santa is a steward
Of parents’ hanging on
To an old dear legend
Perpetuating myth
Santa is a star light
In wintry December
Lifting up our feelings
No matter what our age
Santa is a standard
By which we are measured
For generosity
And good will to all
