One Shabbat One World

"ONE SHABBAT ONE WORLD" – Enjoy an inspiring, thought provoking weekend with author, lecturer and Kabbalah expert Rabbi Aaron Raskin of New York, on Friday January 29th and Saturday January 30th, 2010, at the Double Tree Hotel, in Milford.

This program is open to the entire community. No prior affiliation or membership is required. Adults and children are welcome. A children's programs will run simultaneously during each of the lectures. Babysitting is available with by reservation.

It's a four part weekend. Join for all or any part of the weekend:
1) Friday Jan. 29th at 6:45 PM – a complete, four course Shabbat dinner with all the traditional trimmings, followed by the lecture, "The Crown Of Creation" – The Kabbalah of finding peace in your daily life: Laced with Chassidic stories and Jewish humor.

2) Saturday Jan. 30th at 10 AM – meaningful, Shabbat service filled with joyous song and explanation. During the service Rabbi Raskin will present a short sermon, “The Kabbalah of the Hebrew Alphabet” – Each letter possesses a G-dly energy that can mold your life.
Following services at 12:30 PM – a Farbrengen – A mystical experience. Theme: Bringing stability in an unstable world. Practical ways for improved security.

3) Saturday afternoon Jan. 30th at 4:30 PM – "The role of the Jewish woman (and man)" – How does Judaism look at women? Are women “second class”, or “the captain of the ship”? Open to both women and men. Special Q & A session to follow. Bring all of your questions and/or pre-conceptions, and prepare to be blown away, by what Judaism REALLY has to say about these issues!

4) Saturday evening, Jan 30 at 5:45 PM – Conclude this amazing Shabbat with a special, melodic “Havdalah Service”, complete with wine, candle, herbs and much joy.
