Legion Honors Local Police & Firefighters

As they have for the past dozen years, the Charles F. Duford Post #47, American Legion honored members of the town's fire & police department's on the Sunday closest to 9/11. The presentation of Medals of Merit was handled by Legion Commander Steve Bradford, along with Vice Commanders Bob Hopkins & Steve Napolitano. Citations were presented from the Massachusetts senate and house by Sen. Karen Spilka & Rep. Carolyn Dykema.

Firefighter, Lt. Brian Kramer above center was one of two firefighters honored, and was cited for his lifesaving measures on July 13th when an accident occured in the town center. Firefighter Dylan Mahoney was cited for his lifesaving measures on December 10th when he helped give CPR to a woman near his neighborhood.

Above Ciara Maguire was honored for her detective work in complex investigations including residential breaking & entering, embezzlement and armed bank robbery. Maguire's fellow officers were all cited for lifesaving measures and included Sgt. Glenn Dalrymple, Sgt. Jonathan Remkus, and Officers Ethan Coakley, Felicia Filadelfo and David Charette.

Lto R: Deputy Chief Mark Dellicker, Firefighter Dylan Mahoney, Lt. Brian Kramer & Deputy Chief Jim Moore. Refreshments were served by the American Legion Post 47 who will celebrate their 100th year anniversary beginning in January.
