Fundraiser Tonight for Jennifer Kilpatrick

11/2/2018

Hi,  My friends are throwing me a fundraiser tonight at Anthony's on the Green and I wanted to invite you to stop by at 8.  I am speaking about 1) how wonderful my local community has been to me.  They deserve so much credit in helping me to be as healthy as I can be both physically and emotionally.  Here is the link to three things they have helped me with:

Please join us for an evening of music by Ricardo Barrazza, dancing and fun in honor of Jen K. Anyone who knows Jen — for a lifetime or even for a minute — will attest to her passion for life, friendship, love and laughter. This party is a celebration of friends – one of Jen’s favorite things to do is get people together to have a great time and dance the night away.
Another favorite of Jen’s is the color PURPLE! Please class it up and wear something purple. Come raise a toast and shake your money-maker with Jen. All profits will go toward Jen’s Purple Project, a fundraiser for she and her family as they combat the expenses for her to continue to kick cancer’s a#$!

Dear friends,
I have always hesitated to ask for anyone's financial help during my seven year battle with cancer.  I have fought it off 3 times with numerous rounds of chemotherapy, 3 surgeries, and countless days in the hospital.  Throughout this time I also managed to live cancer free for four of these years against all odds.  I am sorry to say that I may be nearing the end of my battle.  The cancer has reached my liver and is getting worse, despite my talented team of doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital trying a long list of different chemotherapy.  They are running out of options and we are all now looking into clinical trials and seeking second opinions at Sloan-Kettering in New York and beyond but the road is pretty bleak right now.  I cannot work and we have been draining our savings account until it is almost gone due to insanely expensive holistic medication, etc. etc. etc.   If there is anything you can contribute to help me and my family (husband and a ten and eleven year old) it would be greatly appreciated.  The cost of holistic treatment for me in about $1500 a month.  I am also looking for money to support my strict diet needs and household care and maintenance (since my energy is less to do these things and my husband will be working more hours).  As you see on Facebook I still do have my good days but we are really concerned about the road ahead.  I had to leave my job and now Cobra is $1,700 a month in addition to the other expenses.  Brian is currently seeking a second job but we are in a financial situation that is pretty brutal on top of all of this medical news.  Anything you can do would reduce our stress would lift our whole families' spirits.  Once I am more organized I will include links to my Holistic doctor and Holistic food stores if you would prefer paying them directly.  Feel free to message me to ask for a link too.

I am so grateful to my husband, kids, family and wonderful friends who have supported me along the way.  Their love, compassion and helping hands have gotten me this far.  My local community, Holliston, is the best community ever.  I will never forget all the meals, kind words, donations to my store, and true friendships.  They are a big source of my strength as well.

Lately I have been blogging and starting an online store.  If you (like me in so many moments of my life) just don't have the money I would appreciate donations of vintage goods.  Please message me on Facebook to set this up, mail it, or just drop it off at my house.  I am looking for:  items for women and kids before 2000 in good condition (my favorites are dresses, shrugs, coats, bomber jackets, jean jackets, scarves, vintage jewelry (rings, pins, necklaces), Lucinda collectible pins, men's vintage and Disney ties), vintage home goods (mostly fun glassware with prints or the silver stripe at the top), records in mint condition, Disney collectibles, hard cover classic literature books in good condition, and collectible toys (Steiff animals, Beanie Babies with tags, matchbox cars, vintage board games in good condition).
