The 39th annual Pan Mass Challenge

Friends -

At the break of dawn today, 6,500 cyclists will clip in to their pedals and begin their southeastward trek in the 39th annual Pan Mass Challenge. Ostensibly our 110-mile day in the bike saddle takes us to the day #1 finish in Bourne MA. Yet the journeys symbolic destination is much more vital … because we ride to forever impact the long term viability of cancer.

We ride to honor and remember the loved ones that cancer has taken from us. We ride in support of those who are currently fighting their own battle with cancer - and to honor their friends and families who are by their side. We ride to celebrate the ever-increasing ranks of people who have looked cancer in the eye, and then kicked its ass.

To those of you who have financially supported PMC 2018, Thank you / Thank you / Thank you! If you plan to give, and have not yet gotten around to it, what better day to do so than today? 100% of all rider raised funds go directly to cancer research and treatment, and it’s those financial gifts that allow the doctors and scientists at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute to work their magic. Please contribute here.

You can keep up to date on how the weekend is going two ways … First, WBZ-TV will provide extensive coverage of PMC 2018 beginning Friday at 7pm with an hour long special from the PMC opening ceremonies in Sturbridge. Second, I will be active on Facebook during PMC weekend with some mildly amusing and somewhat informative updates. So let’s become Facebook friends if we are not already.

TODAY WE RIDE!

THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF THE JOURNEY

My Best,

Bud
