The Friends of the Holliston Public Library want to remind walkers to visit the Storybook Walk on the rail trail at Cross Street in Holliston.  The walk features stations with consecutive pages of a children’s book that allow participants to get exercise and enjoy a great story at the same time.  The current book is Linda Glaser’s It’s Spring!  Storybook Walk was the project of Eagle Scout Jamie Ogilvie who designed and built the posts and funded by the Friends.

The library offers a variety of discount passes to local museums and attractions available to Holliston residents to borrow with a valid library.  Included are passes to the New England Aquarium, the Science Museum, the Children’s Museum of Boston, Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Peabody Essex Museum, the Mary Baker Eddy Library and Mapparium, the Ecotarium in Worcester, Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Lookout Farm in Natick, the Hall at Patriot Place, the Massachusetts state parks and the U.S.S. Constitution Museum.  Passes are funded by the Holliston Newcomers, the Holliston Garden Club and the Friends of the Library.  They can be reserved in person, by phone or online at the library’s web site.   The Friends also sell discount tickets to Southwick’s Zoo in Mendon for $ 21 each.  That is $7 off adult admission and $ 3 off children’s admission.  Cash or check is accepted for payment at the children’s desk on the lower level and mail order service is available.
