Healthy Aging / Healthy Snacks

Monday, May 14, 2018—1:30 pm

Dietician Lisa Ciarametaro MS, RDN, LDN, CLT will be at the Senior Center to host this presentation.

 

As we age, our bodies need new, different and supplemental vitamins and nutrients. 

* Learn the best foods to feed your body and mind as you age and what foods to supplement as you age.

* Understand appropriate sizes and food sourcesfor your best energy levels and sharp mind.

* Learn the best snacks for a quick pick-me-up and the best times to eat to get the most energy from your diet

* Recipes will be available.

HOLLISTON HIGH SCHOOL INTERGENERATIONAL DINNER DANCE

 

Wednesday, May 16, 2018—5:00 pm—7:00 pm at the Holliston High School

 

Join the Holliston High School Students at the Annual Intergenerational Dinner Dance.  Enjoy a delicious dinner and an evening of great music provided by The Tune Timers and dancing with line dancing instructor, Manny!!

 

Be sure to sign up in advance.  There is no cost for this event.

If you’re getting close to Medicare eligibility, this seminar is for you.  Whether you are planning to retire or will continue to work, it’s important to know your Medicare options.

 

Sue Flanagan, Senior Plan Consultant for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts will present and be able to answer your specific questions as well as explain Medicare Parts A, B and C, the enrollment timeline, plans and program, available to early retirees and more.

Basic First Aid and What To Do in a Medical Situation

 

Wednesday May 9, 2018 at 9:00 am

 

Presented by Members of the Holliston Fire Department

 

This class will focus on identifying a medical emergency, making 911 calls and basic first aid for bleeding control, bone injury, medical emergency, unconscious or unresponsive patient, choking and airway compromise.

"All the way with LBJ" was the campaign chant of the 1964 Presidential election.  For the first time since 1938, the Democratic Party had a solid majority in both houses of Congress.  During the campaign, Johnson had promised to give Americans a Great Society where America can "use its.....wealth to enrich and elevate our national life and to advance the quality of our American civilization."  LBJ never wanted to be a war president.
