Since you are not on a cruise to a sunny location, you might as well get out and enjoy the winter!  The Holliston Conservation Associates will be hosting their annual winter walk on Saturday, February 10 at 9:00 AM with leader Marc Connelly at the Adams Street Conservation Area.

Winter is a fun time to explore the outdoors.  If there is fresh snow, we might be able to follow an animal’s tracks.  If there is mud or older snow, Marc is still likely to point out the animals who have passed by.  Marc may talk about how plants adapt to the cold weather.  Nature is constantly changing, so we never know what we will find, but it should be a fun and informative walk.

We will be walking in the Adams Street Conservation Area, located off Adams Street, not far from Marshall Street.  There is parking at the top of the hill and Marc keeps the lot plowed.  Meet in the parking lot near the trail entrance.  Please do not bring your dog along.

The walk will last about two hours and the terrain is moderate.  We do not walk quickly on these outings because Marc finds so much to look at, so bundle up if it is cold.  If there is deep snow by then, feel free to try out your snowshoes or cross-country skis.  If it is actively snowing (or raining, since we are in New England) that morning, we will postpone the walk.  If you have questions, you may call Mary at 429-5929.

We hope you will come see what there is to see in the woods this year!
