Holliston DPW Goes to the Root of the Problem

December 7, 2017. The Holliston DPW planted two new hybrid Princeton trees at Holliston High School. This tree planting is a program started several years ago to maintain Holliston’s scenic character. There have been numerous trees that have died through out our town due to recent drought and Gypsy moth damage. Several had to be cut down at the high school.

These two Princeton hybrid Elms are resistant to the Dutch Elm disease and will grow up gracing each side of the high school road side sign. So far our town has planted trees on Winter street, Church Street, Elm Street, Blair Square, Staodard Park, and now at the high school. The trees are planted each fall when they are dormant, and we have not lost a tree yet !
