I'm pleased to announce the publication of my book The Garden Tourist, 120 Destination Gardens and Nurseries in the Northeast!

Looking for the perfect holiday gift for the gardener on your list? Join Jana Milbocker, Holliston resident and garden designer, at Jasper Hill Bistro and Cafe on Wednesday, December 13, 7-9 pm, to celebrate the release of her new book, The Garden Tourist, 120 Destination Gardens and Nurseries in the Northeast.

From gardens of natural splendor to classic formality, venues with whimsical sculptures to specialty nurseries, The Garden Tourist provides a comprehensive selection for weekend gardeners, landscape professionals, and vacation travelers.

“Gardeners love to visit public gardens to learn about new plants, design techniques, and practical garden tips. They also visit gardens to be inspired and to shop,” said Milbocker. “Even those who aren’t avid gardeners are interested in lovely spots for celebrations such as weddings and family reunions. The Garden Tourist offers a variety of destinations to interest any and all.”

Wonderful Gardens Found Throughout the Northeast

The 256-page book is divided into chapters by state, from New England to the Hudson River Valley in New York, eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Maps and suggested daily itineraries begin each chapter. Gardeners can also satisfy their “plant lust” by visiting some of the recommended destination nurseries offering rare plants and display gardens.

Each property is described in detail, and richly illustrated with 4-5 color photos that entice the reader to hop in the car. Contact information, admission fees, hours, and special events, along with at-a-glance symbols that denote garden amenities make trip planning a breeze.

“Jana has done all the work for garden lovers to feed their passion. Her comprehensive guide is beautifully illustrated and is brimming with historical, descriptive and useful information and tips for planning your trip. This book is a wonderful gift for your gardening friends,” said Katherine K. Macdonald, President of the Massachusetts Horticultural Society

The Garden Tourist will be available to purchase at the Book Signing. It is also sold at EnchantedGardensDesign.com and at Coffee Haven and Fiskes.
