Holliston in Bloom volunteers spent a brisk but sunny Saturday, November 18th morning, cleaning up the Big Border adjacent to the Church Green and Town Hall along Washington Street.

HIB welcomed new PHD (Professional Hole Digger) Will Brown, who enthusiastically helped rip out spent annuals along both sides of the Big Border.  Other HIB volunteers included HIB co-chair Kathy Shore, Cherry Fenton, Ann Huntington, Laurie Leavitt, Sheila Adams, PJ Kilkelly and Queen of Pinecrest Deb Moore, pictured below left with Laurie Leavitt . Perennials were cut back for the winter along the border and beds surrounding Town Hall were also prepared for winter.  The three large, metal self-watering planters were also cleaned out to fill with winter greens in time for the Holiday Stroll.

The Big Border was planted in bold blocks of color this past summer to showcase the area when Holliston hosted the National America in Bloom Symposium  If you are interested in finding out the names of the plants of each color used in the border, please visit our Projects tab on our website www.hollistoninbloom.org.  HIB is a self-funded, volunteer-run 501(c)(3) organization.  Donations are tax-deductible.  Your support is welcomed and always appreciated.  Visit our website and friend us on Facebook to see how we are planting pride!
