Fuel Assistance

According to Mass.gov, home heating costs are significantly on the rise.  If your income is below $34,380 for a single person or below $44,958 for two people you may be eligible for help paying your heating bills.  This program is available for both home owners and renters and we, here at the Senior Center can assist any resident (regardless of age) with this application.

 THIRD THURSDAY EVENING LEARNING SERIES

Beginning November 16, 2017—6:30 pm—8:00 pm

We are pleased to announce the first of our “Third Thursday Evening Learning Series” which will debut on Thursday, November 16th from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.   ClearPath is a program of the Marlborough Community Development Corps and they will join us for a presentation on their organization and how they help communities, individuals and families deal with issues of cluttering and/or hoarding.  Lynn Faust, Director and Martha Shea, Program Coordinator will discuss downsizing and cluttering in an informative and fun interactive presentation with time set aside for questions.  This discussion is suitable for people with cluttering issues or family and friends who would like to learn more.

Tinsel and Tears Program

The holiday season can be an especially challenging time for us when mourning the loss of a loved one.  It’s important to attend to our grief, accept where we are in the process, and be present for those around us.  Please join us for a presentation on grief and the holidays presented by Compassionate Care Hospice as we join as a community and support each other as we enter into the season of light.

New Medical Escort Program

Would you or your loved one benefit from having an escort to medical appointments?  Would an extra pair of “ears” help understand instructions from medical personnel?  Could you use a little extra help getting on and off the regular Senior Center bus?

As of October 1st of this year we are now able to provide, at no cost to seniors, a medical escort to meet you at your home before the scheduled ride, accompany you to a medical appointment and then see you safely home on our van.  Please call Marty Schneier, Outreach Coordinator for more information.

This service is provided in part by a grant through BayPath Elder Services using Title III Older American Act funding.  Because federal funding is being used we are providing you with an opportunity to make a “voluntary donation” toward the cost of this service.  Your voluntary donations are put directly into program enhancement, allowing for the expansion of services.  WHETHER OR NOT YOU MAKE A VOLUNTARY DONATION IN NO WAY INFORMS OR INFLUENCES THIS SERVICE DELIVERY.
