by Patricia Pereira
10/22/2017

Saturday, October 28 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Next to Town Hall, 703 Washington Street

You’re invited to join local historian and author Joanne Hulbert for a candle-light tour of the Central Burying Ground next to Town Hall (703 Washington Street) on Saturday afternoon, October 28 from 4:30 – 5:30 at dusk.

As twilight falls, enjoy hearing stories from Joanne about Hollistonians from past centuries as we tour the luminary-lighted Central Burying Ground.  Among those buried in this cemetery are many of the original settlers, as well as veterans of the Revolutionary and Civil Wars.

Cider and doughnuts will be served following the walking tour.  There is no charge for this program.

In case of inclement weather, the program will be cancelled.

For more information, please call Nancy Lamb at 508-667-2618.

Benjamin

He lieth in a grave in town,

His stone immersed beneath the ground,

A tree drapes dead across his plot,

Have we forgotten the battle he's fought?

Though Holliston was his abode,

He came from Dracut, not far down the road,

Joined General Butler's Company "C",

30th Regiment; a private you see.
